Embow your day

as part of an Ad campaign aimed at messaging "embow your day with Gouder Wine", I was tasked to create concepts that would go on print ads on several touchpoints. The project was interesting because of a couple of reasons one being, it's a dream come true working for a company I grew nearby, and the second being it also represents some of the print design concepts I tend to produce.

Embow your day

as part of an Ad campaign aimed at messaging "embow your day with Gouder Wine", I was tasked to create concepts that would go on print ads on several touchpoints. The project was interesting because of a couple of reasons one being, it's a dream come true working for a company I grew nearby, and the second being it also represents some of the print design concepts I tend to produce.

The Brand

Gouder Wine, a part of the Awash Winery S.C. product portfolio is the first winery in Ethiopia and prides its self with pioneering alongside presenting a variety of sweet and semi-sweet wine selections that accompany a variety of Ethiopian food, and the specific ad campaign these concepts are designed for adds to the brand story by communicating that you can embow/ enhance your day with our products. Furthermore, as a customer engagement campaign, it conveys the seniority of the products in both quality and legacy of the parent brand.

The Edge

Because of the nature of print ads and some of the touchpoints, such as billboards, trucks, and social media postings, the concepts will be implemented. The concepts must be effective in communicating the notion while remaining flexible enough to accept layout changes caused by the size, orientation and type of the destination's touchpoints. Trucks being the major the touchpoints since they move all around the city.The tagline and typography has already been accepted and developed by the Mado communications, the agency I was working with for the campaign so it was a predefined constraint to navigate

The Approach

Embow: transitive verb : to form into an arch or vaultThe first concept was to show the message in a specific moment where the message is felt while interacting with the products i.e. when pouring the wine so the concept was a combination of wine being poured while showcasing the wine.The second concept was highlighting the pioneering legacy of the brand by communicating “The Wine” of choice which was achieved by combining the logo mark that gouder and the parent brand share in a simple yet potent manner to combine with the product.

The Result

To accommodate the fast-moving and thus short window to clearly communicate the message, the elements were refined down to the critical pieces, which is the moment of pouring the wine the campaign message, and the logo was placed on the bottom of the right corner so that the logo appears at eye level for sedans and SUVs on the road.

Conversion

The portrait concept of the poster was then modified to fit the size and orientation of distribution trucks
